Winery Weekend Itinerary

Yadkin County is in the heart of the Yadkin Valley Wine Region and has over ten wineries to choose from. If you’re looking for the perfect place to have a relaxing wine weekend, this is it!

You can choose to do a self-guided tour of the wineries or call the Yadkin Wine Shuttle Service to be your designated driver. Whichever you choose, please drink responsibly.

Many of these wineries have food trucks and live music on the weekends, so you’ll want to check their social media accounts to see what’s going on and if you want to shift any of these around.

Dynamis Estate Wines

Dynamis Estate is one of the newest wineries in Yadkin County and offers an upscale experience. This is the only one where reservations are required so please make one in advance!

You have the option to do a guided or self-guided tasting here and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding area.

They offer primarily dry red wines and a small appetizer menu. No pets or outside food are allowed, and this vineyard is 21+ only.

Dobbins Creek Vineyard

This cozy vineyard is tucked away on a gravel road, but well worth the journey to get here. The tasting room is a log cabin with a beautiful patio that overlooks the vineyard and mountains beyond.

They offer tastings, flights, or wines by the glass or bottle and something unique is their wine-based cocktails. You can also get a charcuterie or cheese board.

You’ll find a nice selection of whites and reds here, but mostly dry wines. The patio is very dog friendly and a great spot to hang out for a bit.

Midnight Magdalena Vineyards

Another place featuring primarily dry wines, Midnight Magdalena is located in a renovated house with lots of outdoor seating.

Here you can have a tasting, flight, glass, or bottle and they welcome picnics and well-behaved furry friends on their patio.

Grab a seat on their covered porch or concrete patio and enjoy the views and delicious wine.

Delicious sub from Generations Family Restaurant.

Dinner at Generations

This no-frills family restaurant will really surprise you. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is great quality. On the menu, you’ll find a great variety from entreés like seafood and steaks to salads, wraps, and sandwiches.

It’s a very popular spot with locals and can get crowded on the weekends, so be prepared to wait at prime dinner time.

Saturday

Breakfast: Debbie’s Dairy Freeze

Debbie’s is a quick counter-service spot in Yadkinville where you can get a breakfast plate or sandwich and sometimes they have waffles or omelets on special.

If it’s a nice day, they also have a walk-up window where you can order and offer outside seating.

Tasting room at Shadow Springs.

Shadow Springs Vineyard

Shadow Springs is a fun place to start with TONS of choices. Everything from the tasting room to the grounds is beautiful and they have a great patio where you can sit and enjoy the view.

This is the perfect place if you have a group with varied tastes because whether you want dry or sweet, red or white, they have it. Enjoy a tasting, flight, glass, or bottle here and you can even bring your own picnic.

Windsor Run Cellars

This is a sister company to Shadow Springs, and in addition to being a winery, it is also a distillery! As for the wines, they also have a varied selection and some interesting blends plus they serve fortified wines and slushies.

If you want to try their spirits, you’ll have to go into a separate building from their tasting room. It’s well worth the walk though as the distillery area has a speakeasy feel. Distillery tastings are only available on Saturdays.

This is a really laid back spot and their deck is great for dogs. If you’re hungry, they sell Ashe County Cheese and crackers!

Lunch: Shiloh General Store

Just down the road from Windsor Run is Shiloh General Store, the local Amish store. It gets very busy on the weekends especially to stop and grab a made to order sandwich.

Even if the place is packed, they get through the orders quickly. Submit your ticket and then look around the store for a few minutes while you wait.

Laurel Gray Vineyards

The landscaping at Laurel Gray Vineyards is really beautiful and any garden-lover will be happy here, especially during the spring.

In addition to the indoor seating, there is a large covered veranda and other secluded outdoor seating areas. You can grab a flight, glass, or bottle here, and they have deli-type food items for sale. Pets are welcome outdoors.

You’ll typically find food trucks here on the weekend, so if you would rather eat here that’s an option. Check their Events Page to see what they have scheduled.

Brandon Hills Vineyard

The tasting room at Brandon Hills is a cozy log cabin with a beautiful back deck. If you visit on a busy weekend, you can bring your own lawn chair or picnic blanket in case it’s a full house.

They have a nice selection of whites and reds, but they also have a good amount of sweet wines to choose from.

Dinner: Taste of Italy

If you want pizza, subs, pasta, or chicken wings, then Taste of Italy is the place to go. Their salads are also always fresh.

The restaurant is easy to get to with lots of parking and right off of Highway 421.

Sunday

Cellar 4201

Another spot with a great patio, this boutique-style winery is a relaxing place to visit on a Sunday. They have multiple dry red options and a couple of white wines.

You can enjoy a glass, flight, or bottle here but note that pets aren’t allowed.

Brunch: Sanders Ridge

Another absolute gem in Yadkin County, Sanders Ridge is a delicious option for Sunday brunch. The beautiful lodge-style tasting room is situated on land that has been in the same family for over 180 years.

The menu is seasonally influenced but you’ll find things like salads, soups, and sandwiches on their regular menu plus a brunch buffet and mimosa specials. Reservations are required for their brunch buffet!

Divine Llama Vineyard

Here’s something you don’t see everyday - a winery on a llama farm! At Divine Llama you’ll find a great variety of wines and you can grab a flight, glass, or bottle. They are typically very busy on the weekends so service may take longer than normal.

They have lots of outdoor seating though and you are allowed to walk down to the farm where you can watch the llamas and even pet them if they get close enough. Food trucks are typically here on the weekends and you can check their website to learn which ones.

This is a great spot for kids as most love the llamas, but they must be accompanied by an adult over 21 and there is a $10 farm visit fee. The fee is waived for kids under 4 years old.

Hanover Park Vineyard

Hanover Park is another vineyard that has a great selection from dry reds and whites to a few sweet options and even a port-style wine.

The tasting room is located in a historic farmhouse and is really quaint. There is lots of seating outside among the trees or you can enjoy your wine inside the renovated farmhouse.
